Really? I never would have guessed. . .
I have not made a big deal of the Swine Flu. Why? Flu bugs happen. And apparently many officials have come to the conclusion that this flu is no more deadly than a normal, seasonal flu bug.

Now, this isn't to say that we should just completely ignore this - especially for the very young and the elderly - but it's a typical strain of the flu. Yes - the flu kills people all the time -- just not all that often at the end of April.

What we had is the perfect media storm. Fox and the right loved it because it was "scary" (ooOOoo people are dying, and down in Mexico - look we can even blame brown people too!) and the left loved it because Super-Obama could use his awesome government powers and save the day (if only the mean Republicans who didn't want pandemic funding tacked on to an economic stimulus bill. . .)

Shoot, even Egypt got the idea to slaughter a bunch of pigs. Take that you minority pig eaters!

The right and the left both agreed that this could be milked. . . and oh look. . . it's okay.

Thus is life in the world. Our media sucks.
